I was about to purchase the Sony NWZ-E354 to replace the unit I had given to my son since this was by far the best MP3 player I have ever owned. But then Amazon suggested "a newer model of this product" the NWZ-E464. Well it just arrived and I've never been more flabbergasted. It's doesn't have a standard USB connector! I used to use the E354 model to trade music with friends and often I would use it like a spare USB stick. Since it is unlikely anyone would carry around Sony's special data cable whenever they are listening to music, this useful function is gone. Even if I only used the mp3 player at my desk - it would still be ridiculous. Imagine if every manufacture designed their own unique data cable. You would have so many cables hanging around it would be nearly impossible to hook up anything. USB was invented to avert this catastrophe. Doesn't anyone at Sony understand this? Really, with this attitude they might as well be Apple. (Ok, maybe not quite that bad - but still bad enough). I should still be able to buy the older model ... but if not ... Bye Bye Sony - you have once again shown your arrogance, stupidity, and lack of consideration for your customers.

I bought this item after comparing tons of music players. I needed something that would play all or most music formats, have an FM radio, play video, and record voice memos. This sony walkman comes with all these features and came at a very reasonable price. The sound quality is excellent. The video is good for short segments or family pictures. The screen size is not meant for long term viewing of movies, although it can be done. The only drawback is that that there is no volume control. I bought this item along with the silicone skin, screen protector, home charger, and car charger. I use this while biking on my road bike for hours at times. Love it. I couldn't give it a five star rating because of the lack of volume control. The FM radio reception/pickup is terrific for a device this size. I strongly recommend this item.

This was a great purchase and the price was very reasonable as compared to what other stores were selling the exact same product for.
